See if you notice any parallels to being physically ..emotionally.. spiritually running on empty!
- Unprepared: Not starting out with a full tank!
- Leaks: Having an unknown leak that is quietly draining you!
- Availability: Can’t find a filling station!
- Finances: Can’t afford gas – so you keep procrastinating
- Presumption: Assuming you have what it takes to keep going, Lying to self. Wishful
- Inattention: Being distracted & not watching your gauges or don’t believe them(broken)
- Hurry: Driving at high speed which causes you to run out faster
- Pressure: rapid acceleration , putting the pedal to the metal
- Ego: Trying to drive to far and not knowing the limits of your tank
- Busyness: Being too busy to stop and refuel
- Lack of Knowledge: When you don’t know how to fill the tank
- Overload: When you’re carrying too much weight
During the next 6 wks series, we’ll deal with every one of these factors in your personal life.

I can think of another reason for running out of gas — 13. Theft: Letting people steal your gas.

These are so relevant to us as pastors. We started a new church 3 1/2 years ago and we just moved into our new building, but because I’m overloaded from a lack of help or volunteers, I’m almost out of gas.
I look forward to this series.

Another way to run out of gas is # 14 Evaporation; to me that is death. Please do not reach the evaporation point! Therefore, you must stay in the fluid state or solid state and not get burnt out by the heat of the day.

I have to remember to “fill up” constantly. It’s not something I always like to do, but I know I have to do it. After a “fill up” I always feel better and am more effective in my ministry.

Let the vehicle idle – running out of gas going nowhere. Just do not stand there do something in your church and your community.
