I made a statement about preaching from your life in that we no longer belong to ourselves but to God. What I have discovered is that this kind of preaching opens people up to the gospel and builds a trust platform in their hearts. People will not follow without first trusting and life sharing is the baseline to trust.
Paul said “we came not just preaching the Good News but we gave you our lives as well.” As pastors we can never disconnect from God or from the people God has called us to lead. When they hear my victories, struggles, and failings I make the growth process real.
I never liked being preached to. I already know how far short I fall from God’s standards I don’t need someone who doesn’t know or love me reminding me. The real key to all of this is to make sure your are walking with God. We are called to be holy people first and foremost. So, preach for life change from your changed life. Rick’s teachings on this subject are the best out there.

    Rick,

We have doubled the number of people volunteering in Campus Ministries alone this week for Easter (Traffic, Greeters, Ushers, Campus Care, Bulletin Stuffing, Welcome Center, and Health Care.)

This is HUGE. Statistically, this the is a first for this much of an increase. In the past couple of years we have seen an increase, but this year it is 3 times the normal levels. Our Campus Ministry Director is doing an AWESOME job in enlisting, training, and placing these people.

Our goal is to not only place these folks, but RETAIN them for the long haul.

This is an answer to prayer.

WOWOWOWOWOWOW. This is fantastic news Kerry!

This is a great example of how special days help to mobilize more people into service.
